To watch the process of implementation provided by the programs of the capital development of 2014 in the administrative districts Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a working visit to Malatia Sebastia district. Accompanied by the head of the administrative district Artak Aleksanyan the Mayor visited Akhparashen quarter where he familiarized himself with the process of water supply system installation being carried out within the frames of “The program of water supply and drainage systems improvement” financed by credit means disbursed by the Government of France. Presenting the Mayor the volumes of the work provided for by the first stage of the program the director of the office for Community development programs Garnik Aleksanyan noted that as a result of the system installation the badly damaged distribution network will be improved, damaged sewage pipes will be reconstructed. Attaching primary importance to proper quality of the work Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed the persons in charge to set control over the process and the terms of implementation.
Attacin importance to the improvement of water supply and drainage systems Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that the networks had been extremely worn out which caused frequent emergency situations in the system. From this point of view the Mayor stressed that the Municipality does its best to regulate the problems cooperating both with local and international structures.
It was mentioned that water supply systems improvement is to be carried out in Shengavit, Davtashen, Kentron, Kanaker Zeytun, Malatia Sebastia districts. With this aim different drainpipes of 94 km length will be constructed and about 6000 connections in the area of detached houses will be replaced with new ones. Besides in 23 streets in Kentron, Erebuni, Ajapnyak, Malatia Sebastia, Shengavit, Kanaker Zeytun, Arabkir districts sewage pipes of 5,2 km length will be restored and the main collectors will be restored too. The project is carried out by the French company “Sade”. The engineer of the Armenian office of the company, manager Eric Liot assured that special attention is paid to the quality and the pipes will serve for more than 50 years.
It is planned to finish the activities of the first stage in 2016. The second stage provides for restoration of sewage cleaning station of Aeratsia and the activities are planned for 2015-2016. The third stage of the program financed by the credit means of the French Government provides for to install the system of remote control of daily regulatory water reservoirs, the SCADA program as a result of which the management of the wells of Aparan and Katnaghbyur will be carried out in that way. The activities are planned for 2015-2016.
