Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan took part in the first meeting of the board of trustees of “Armenian National University of Architecture and Construction” foundation. Within the scope of discussion the issue of election of the chairman of the board included in the agenda the candidacy of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was offered. As a result of an open voting Taron Margaryan was unanimously elected chairman of the board of trustees of the foundation. Expressing gratitude for the confidence the Mayor stressed that during his presidency he will go on doing his best to solve the problems facing the university and to assist in the implementation of various programs. “Within the last three years being the chairman of the board of the University I consider our joint work to be really successful and I assure you that in within the new period I will go on working with the same principles and approaches making our teamwork both with the faculty and the students more effective. Uniting around new and progressive ideas and improving the scientific methods and mechanisms we will be able to strengthen the place of the university among other universities of Armenia as well as will gain more achievements. I am sure that each of those present has enough will and decisiveness to do it. I wish all of us new achievements and success in all the initiatives”, stressed Taron Margaryan.
Expressing gratitude for permanent assistance to the Mayor the acting rector of University of Architecture and Construction Gagik Galstyan in his turn assured that the University will go on carrying out and realizing programs aimed at preservation of scientific and educational achievements of the University providing a new pace of development at the same time.
The participants of the meeting confirmed the procedure of holding the election for the position of the rector of the University. Within the scope of the next item on the agenda the Secretary of the scientific council of the University Levon Levonyan presented the report on the work done in 2013 as well as the programs scheduled for 2014.
