The delegation headed by the Deputy Mayor of Yerevan David Ohanyan has been in the capital of Georgia on October 24-27 by the invitation of the Mayor of Tbilisi David Narmania to take part in the celebration of “Tbilisoba”, the Day of Tbilisi. The delegation involved the Staff Secretary of the Municipality Sergey Margaryan, the head of the administrative district of Ajapnyak Artavazd Sargsyan, the head of the division of foreign relations of the Municipality Department of Foreign Relations Harutyun Hakobyan. Within the frames of the visit the members of the delegation met with the Mayor of Tbilisi David Narmania. Congratulating him on the day on behalf of the Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan and conveying his greetings addressed to the city and its residents David Ohanyan expressed gratitude for the invitation and warm welcome. Stressing the importance of expansion and development of the bilateral friendly relations the Deputy Mayor once again re-stated the position and willingness of the Mayor of Yerevan in this issue.
David Narmania in his turn thanked for accepting the invitation and conveyed his gratitude to Taron Margaryan for his warm wishes.
During the meeting the parties discussed the issue of re-signing the treaty “On cooperation between Yerevan and Tbilisi” as well as referred to the issue of placement a khachkar dedicated to Armenian-Georgian friendship in Yerevan square.
During the visit the Yerevan delegation took part in the Holy mass in St Echmiadzin church, then visited the educational-cultural center operating adjunct to the church, got acquainted with the facilities and the everyday life of the children attending the center. The delegation also visited the Pantheon of Khojivank, put flowers at the graves of the Armenian greats buried there and rendered their tribute to their memory.
